New Year Greeting and January Wines!

All of us at The Vine Ltd wish you a very Happy New Year!
We wish you the best of health, wealth and happiness in 2015!

Our latest Newsletter was sent January 6. If you didn’t receive it and would like to please use the Contact page to subscribe.

We start the new year with some fantastic new releases:

First of all the best set of wines from Domaine La Bouïssière for many years. Thierry Faravel makes sublime wine every year but the 2012s are simply some of the most exciting wines on the planet. There’s a textural space and sense of energy that shows why Gigondas is one of the most under-appreciated sources of wine in the world. And why Beaumes de Venise is such fun…

And from Châteauneuf-du-Pape superstar producer Pierre Usseglio the new Côtes du Rhône and super juicy, fruity Vin de France Panorama, a regular super-value. I’ve always loved the fruit purity in Usseglio’s wines and since 2011, Thierry Usseglio’s winemaking is evolving, or returning, to a much more interesting traditional style such as they made in their early years around 1998, with more whole bunch and less extraction. Regrettably, much modern Châteauneuf-du-Pape can be a numbing experience, with excessive alcohol and extraction but the Usseglio brothers make great drinking wines. Here is more for you to read about Usseglio, James’ blog: http://jamesdunstan.jp/usseglio-little-history/

New Press: RP

In the latest from eRobert Parker:
Domaine La Bouïssière and Domaine des Espiers are both listed as top in Gigondas.

Domaine La Bouïssière Beaumes de Venise 2012 90p is “a shockingly good red, an outstanding effort”
Domaine La Bouïssière Gigondas 2012 89-91p is “outstanding, classic and pure” and has “surprising elegance”. No surprise to us, though!
Domaine des Espiers Gigondas (92-94p) with “fantastic purity and elegance”
Domaine des Espiers Gigondas Cuvée des Blaches 2012 is 91+ and “rich, textured and beautifully pure” – and noted aged all in demi-muid and more modern in style
